Not to stay behind Samsung, Panasonic and Sony too have come up with eco-friendly HDTV options. Panasonic Viera TH-50PZ800U flat panel TV gives you the option to choose between home and business environments and accordingly adjusts picture preset. Its Standard picture preset for home environment saves a lot of power by automatically adjusting the settings across all other inputs. Samsung HL-5687S and Sony KDL-32M4000 are also other less power consuming options in HDTVs.
One other eco-friendly product is Sony’s Wind-up camera. This camera does not require any batteries and works on the spin-n-snap principle. To generate power to click pictures with this camera, one has to rotate the wheel in it that can either be done with a finger or by rolling the wheel down on any surface. To click one picture, you have to rotate the wheel for about 15 seconds. The process has to be repeated for clicking every picture.
Green products may appear cumbersome and unattractive both in design and looks at times, but their impact on environment is a factor in their favour. Moreover, with technological advancement, companies are coming up with gadgets that are both technically superior and leave the smallest footprint on the eco-system.
