Microsoft Surface

Microsoft has come a long way since its inception - remember DOS, and other early operating systems that introduced you to Paintbrush, Solitaire, et al? Now, the software giant claims it is trying to bridge the gap between the virtual world and the real world with "Surface", a breakthrough futuristic technology that the company unveiled in May 2007. "Microsoft Surface" is the first commercially-available surface computer from the company.

Through this first commercial launch, Microsoft, in alliance with AT&T, intends to transform the way people shop for mobile phones. The company is trying to give the masses a taste of the possibilities this new technology has to offer. They will be able learn about the technology and product, and get a first-hand experience for the same. The success of these pilot deployments will determine Microsoft's further plans of expansion in other AT&T stores across America, the company said.

"Surface" looks far more evolved in the Touch" technology. At first sight, it appears to be no less than what an average person would expect to see in an ahead-of-its-time sci-fi movie. Through this revolutionary product, Microsoft hopes to evolve a one-stop-shop for several traditional machines available, and simply make our lives simpler.
