In Sims Animals, you get to control an entire world and its ecosystem. So, in turn, you have to control all the animals and mind the ecosystem.
The herbivores will visit your forest according to the plants grown. There is a small task system at the bottom on the screen which will give you regular tasks to attract the animals and maybe develop your forest in certain ways. These tasks are not compulsory, so they need not be followed up with. You can look after your forest the way you like it.

You can interact with the animals and plants with a 3D hand. Depending on how you treat the animals, the hand will be either be liked or disliked. You can play with the animals and move them around if they are in danger. You can even move the trees to place the forest the way you want.

With over 30 different species to control, ranging from cute to mischievous, this game would be a new Sims experience all together.

Also, there is a possibility of the plants and animals dying if they are malnourished, or over-nourished. If plants do not get enough water or are over-watered they perish, and if the plants perish then the animals don't get to eat and they die as well. Then there is also the possibility that the few predators that exist in the game need their nourishment.

This game, which is scheduled for release at the start of 2009 for the Wii and DS, is mostly meant for a younger audience.
