Final Fantasy VII

This game is often considered the best FF game in the series. Cloud's adventure has resulted in a breakthrough animation film and a tech demo that raised a few hopes for a hi-def remake on the PS3. FFVII had all the right elements and they all worked together; the engaging story, the characters and gameplay all led to a fantastic Final Fantasy experience, one that is unrivaled till today.
