2008 has been a year to forget for Motorola. The year started on a bad note with lay-offs, with as many as 3500 employees getting the pink slip in January. Even with 2008 drawing to a close, the company is still reeling - thanks to the grim financial scenario in the US. If that was not all, the uninspiring products that the company churned out ensured its market share alarmingly tumbled from 18.4% in 2007 to just 9.7% in 2008.
