
For the first time, the developers won't have to attach their iPhone or iPod Touch devices via USB to test applications. Earlier, developers had to tether for development purposes. Apple, however, suggests the developers to use USB since it's faster and draws less power. Ars Technica reported that developers won't be able to install applications from Xcode over WiFi and can't debug them as well.
Also, the 'Trim Original' and 'Save as New Clip' tabs will replace the 'Save' and 'Save a Copy' tabs during video trimming, reported When Will Apple. TUAW noted that the .ipcc file based tethering trick would no longer work over iPhone OS 3.1 beta 2 update.
What we really intend to see is the iPhone heating and battery life reduction issues being taken care of. If we count six betas for iPhone OS 3.1 Updates then the final release would be made sometime in September. Oh well, September happens to be the month when Apple usually upgrades its iPod product family.
