Earlier today, DoT held a pre-bid meeting regarding the prospective companies.

Following our last report on the 3G auction to be decided upon by the end of this year, as mentioned by the Department of Telecom (DoT) secretary earlier, Government efforts to commemorate the 3G auction seem to have geared up in advance.

Earlier today, DoT held a pre-bid meeting regarding the prospective companies, both Indian and international, wishing to offer 3G services in the country.

While another report suggests that a meeting had been called by Jyotiraditya Scindia, Minister of State for Communications and IT, with the officials of DoT today to consider a proposal regarding spectrum sharing between mobile operators.

This news, as it turns out, was dismissed by the PA to Scindia. He said that the minister did not have any meetings fixed for today, and certainly not regarding the issue of spectrum sharing between mobile operators.
