I entirely agree with all the comments on having been loaded with a substandard product by either the Microsoft or Dell when they were aware that Vista Home Premium is a defective product, they still preloaded the same on our machines.
At least Microsoft whose CEO believes in good business practices should have stopped Dell to do this kind of cheating process.
I had all the credits for Dell but seeing their working am loosing all the faith in them. Very unfortunate.
Microsoft --that is Mr. gates should prevail upon their O.E.M. suppliers to correct and provide free Windows 7-ultimate.
I hope some thing will be done in this respect.

for the reputation of Microsoft as well as the care of customers by them, that free
opportunity should be arranged to upgrade Windows XP/VISTA to Windows7.
Well my dear friends, before releasing any OS Microsoft launches build and RC versions for free, either it is vista or windows 7. The user must use this first before buying any products or use trail versions first. If you believe the products meets your requirements then you buy other wise you not. It happen with Vista that the vista product is not so much user-friendly as XP or windows 7. But if you purchased the product before the release of windows 7, then its your problem. you can't say that free upgrade it to windows 7 instead of Vista, a Billion dollar has been invested to bring windows 7 in market you should think about the flavor of the product, although you are spending few hundreds of dollar, Its worth purchasing it, If you want Quality, support and user friendly.
Although for those users who are using Linux or solaris, you know abt these OS, these OS can be used only those persons who are having fair knowledge about the OS and Technical Terms , Normal person can't use this, and also the Linux flavor product doesn't support all softwares.

I think the Price of Windows 7 is prohibitive. That is why pirated versions are so much sought after.
I cannot afford to pay such a high price.
If the price were reasonable there would be no pirating.

Window 7 quite easy for use rather than vista it is lighter then window vista and provide more security then window xp.
I am Using Windows vista home premium. which is geniune & i get it in oct-2009, but now i want to try windows 7 ultimate version. but i can't do the same because the price of this version is high for me.
Please take few steps to its price for the person who are using geniune windows of microsoft. so that they can use the geniune windows for their life time.
